Summer Update

Hi all! Sorry I’ve been MIA again… It’s been a cray-cray year so far, and things have gone from one bad thing to another so fast that most times I feel like I can’t keep up…

But I haven’t been lax. I’ve kept doing whatever it is that I do, just a bit slower than usual.

And I have a new project that has been taking up quite a bit of my undivided attention. I’d love for you to take a chance and check it out…

Alot of time has been going into editing this book, so I’d love it to get a little attention.

On another note, it is our local library system’s Summer Reading program, so stay tuned for updates from my reading list – I’m behind on posting my reviews, but not on writing them. Tomorrow I’ll share images and updates on my shelves and reading stack…

Also I’ve been hitting the learning curve hard as I find myself in crash courses about computer updates and such while dealing with a connection issue on the borrowed laptop I use, and have found myself returning to “Ol’ Trusty”, my old heavy-duty Toughbook. I find myself amazed at the issues of Windows 10, and the durability of Windows XP.

Finally, I learned today that I was supposed to have taken a language class. I don’t know when that was, so I’ll find out more tomorrow. I may be opening a new chapter (pun intended) in my reading life! How exciting!

Anyways, just wanted to let you all know I’m still alive and still reading! Stay tuned for tomorrow’s update and be sure to check out the Kickstarter!

And Now That NaNo’s Over…

Hi all! Miss me?

I took a hiatus as NaNoWriMo hit me amidst what felt like a thousand other things, including suffering a loss of energy due to medication fluctuations. Most days it was a struggle to just turn on the computer, not to mention get 1667+ words down in Word.

But now that NaNo’s over, and things seem to be balancing out, I intend to get back to what I love… Giving everyone my honest opinion, asked for or not!

I have also started getting books from another source, as well – the Review Gods are being very good to me, and I am hurrying to keep catch up!

I am also going to start reviewing television series’ – an exciting new venture! I received advanced viewing discs of three different series’ from a friend in LA, so look for my thoughts on them. If this goes well, it may become something of a regular feature around here…

Also, I will be starting a Kickstarter soon, so watch for news of that…

As 2015 winds to a close, and with it The Year of Women Writers, I would like to hear thoughts on what next year should bring…

Arts and crafts?

Movies and the stories that inspire them?

Food and fitness?

Or something entirely different?

Right now, 2016 is a clean slate, with lots of potential… So let’s take this year out with a bang, and bring in the next with some pizzazz! For we are what we read!

Kickstarter Update – A Softer Apocalypse

So, from time to time (more like, on the rare occasions I have any money), I Kickstart something. I love Kickstarter! Never heard of it? Check it out here…

Well, last year sometime, I had money from my summer pay, and I Kicked in on this…

And two days ago, I got my reward! Read my review of it here…

Well, since I enjoy bringing the unique, undiscovered, overlooked, and more to the internet masses, I want to get everyone to do at least one internet search for this thing. Let’s create a buzz so that the creators will do more with this idea, so I won’t be so confused… (feel free to read my review if this confuses you).

And be sure to check out Kickstarter. There’s some pretty awesome stuff on there. And if you are looking on Kickstarting a campaign of your own, feel free to let me know… I love being able to help make cool stuff happen, in my own small way. Just be sure to post a link so I can find it…

Book of the Week

Thought I’d get this out a little early this week since I have a doctor’s appointment tomorrow, and I’ve been late enough as it is. Besides, I don’t think any book will outshine this as my Pick of the Week:

 Lightning Lord

By: Shenoa Carroll-Bradd

A lively, rollicking romp around an alternate Victorian London, filled with steam, surprises, and sudden bouts of lightning fill this book with head-shaking, laugh-inducing semi-drama that begs to be read in one sitting and cries out for a sequel!

(Please, please, please write a sequel!!! And can I be a character, too?)

Read the rest here.

Highly recommended!
