Huckle’s Opposites

By: Richard Scarry

As all Richard Scarry books I’ve read, this one has alot of background packed into each picture, leading to a book that has so much to offer in a small package.

Opposites included here are happy and sad, clean and dirty, tidy and messy, and energy and sleepy. The facing pictures show each opposite, allowing the opportunity to compare and contrast, showing youngsters the difference in a way that encourages sharing and discussion.

The opposite words are bolded, allowing for emphasis of that word for those learning to read. And the friendly faces of Huckle Cat and Lowly Worm are great for small children. A great board book for little ones.
